The year 2020 saw Emngunguny FC be The reigning champions after outshining 24 other football teams defeating Kirima FC 5:2 in penalties, who came second at Torongo grounds, at an annual tournament held every year during Mashujaa day, in Baringo County.
The 2020 tournament aim to nature talent commenced on 16th -to 24th using four fields,
Torongo, Timboroa Tinet and Mwachon field.
Abraham Tanui emerged as the top scorer with 10 goals all through the tournament while Kaitit FC emerged as the youngest team with most disciplined players.
The event sponsored by Victor Kipsang and Goodwill Youth development Association a Community Based Organization (CBO) chaired by Frank Sertoi, saw football funs from far and within cheer their teams of choices and express gratitude to the talents.
Victor Kipsang the event sponsor congratulated the teams that participated and the teams from Lembus ward, two guests teams, Sinonin FC from Lembus Kwen and Mumberes FC from Mumberes Maji Mazuri ward for sparing their time.
“Football is not only for fun but economical and a career as well. Talent is the innate skill or capability of handling particular or different activities and everyone is talented in one way or the other.
It is extremely important that we identify and nurture it from the very beginning the same way we would pursue a career through a formal education system.” Victor Kipsang the tournament sponsor.
The winning team took the converted Trophy, a new ball and Ksh. 5000, the second team won Ksh. 3000 and a new ball while the team that took third position took home Ksh. 2000 and new ball finally the fouth team won Ksh 1000 and a new ball the rest 22 teams were rewarded with new balls each.
Tinet Nyani FC took the third position while Tiripkatoi young stars took the forth position.
2019 champions were Tiripkatoi young stars who took the trophy, second was Tinet nyani stars and the third team were Emngunguny fc, the now reigning champion.
