DIB bank of Kenya aids disadvantaged families

Ramadhan is well known all over the world as a season of prayer and fasting for our Muslim brothers and sisters.

It is also a time when Muslims reflect on their lives and purposely focus on positivity.  Ramadhan is also a season of cheer. People come together and break the fast as they share meals. Ramadhan was however different this year.

The world is facing a pandemic; one that has brought socio-economics challenges to the world and has rendered many jobless. A pandemic that has robbed the Muslim community the cheer in the communal sharing of meals as is the norm.

DIB Bank projects its values through corporate social responsibility. Through these values, this year the Bank chose to share positivity and cheer to needy families by donating food in both Nairobi and  Mombasa to feed the needy and vulnerable in the Society.

Being the second year that DIB Bank is partnering with the Muslim community to cushion the vulnerable during Ramadhan, the Bank’s CEO Peter Makau pledged to continue supporting the community even in years to come.

DONT CURSE THE CORONAVIRUS, it has blessings too

“At DIB the well-being of people is an important value we hold, and we aim to play our role in support of the community by reaching out to the vulnerable during this holy month of Ramadhan”, he added during the donation handover.

The food donations were done to Jamia Mosque, Mukuru kwa Njenga and to the Wakf commission in Mombasa and they included packages of dry foods like sugar, rice, wheat flour, cooking oil, maize flour, tea leaves and salt. These donations benefitted at least 300 families.

In addition, The Bank has also been walking with their clients to cushion them during these hard economic times through restructuring of financing facilities in order to ease the burden for those struggling during this period.
